Building A Network of Supporters
This IEHS sponsored mentoring event, which seeks to support graduate students and early-career historians studying North American immigration and ethnicity, will consist of three parts:
A brief discussion of strategies for building your academic network.
Small breakout groups that give you the opportunity to ask a mid-career or senior professional your most pressing academic and career questions and meet peers with similar research interests.
A short brainstorming session on ways IEHS can further support mentoring in the future (and information about IEHS’s free introductory membership for students).
Breakout group leaders include Laura Gutiérrez, Felipe Hinojosa, Hidetaka Hirota, Michael Jin, Uzma Quraishi, Yael Schachter, and Bryan Winston.
To help determine breakout groups, we ask participants to indicate the areas in which they seek advice after registering for this event.
Please note that registration ended on February 15, 2025 and will be limited to forty people.
